With great sadness we report the death of Hazel Colyer on 19 December 2016.
Hazel was a distinguished therapeutic radiographer and former Dean of Health and Social Care at Canterbury Christ Church University. She was instrumental in introducing interprofessional education at the University, including establishing the MA in interprofessional health and social care, also the author of many publications concerning IPE and a long term CAIPE supporter.
Hazel was a Fellow of the College of Radiographers, a bereavement counsellor and school governor, and active in many local community organisations.
Soon after her essential participation in the first Working Women in an Ageing Society Conference in Fukuoka, Japan in June 2016, which she helped to organise, we heard from her that the cancer had returned. Hazel was an inspirational colleague and teacher, and a wonderful friend.
We will miss her warmth, intellectual curiosity, openness and wisdom.
